The Floating Bear is perfect for you if you're a keen sailor. She's a well-balanced boat and handles beautifully whether under sail or power.

She has two wheels so when you're at the helm you can stay on the windward side and enjoy great visibility under sail.

And there's even the added bonus of an electric winch for the main halyard and sheet.

If you're more interested in sitting back while others take charge you'll love spacious cockpit.

There's enough room for the whole family to relax underway and enjoy the stunning Pittwater views.

And at anchor you can unfold the huge cockpit table and enjoy a lazy BBQ lunch or a cold beer or glass of wine at sunset.

Once inside you'll love the contemporary mid-tone wood finish with stainless steel fittings and modern, flush lighting.

The open plan galley and living area is perfect for entertaining - there's plenty of space for 8 to sit comfortably around the table and enjoy a sociable meal.

And for your comfort there's 3 private double cabins and two heads each with a shower.

On Deck

The Floating Bear is a Beneteau Oceanis 40 built in 2010.

She's 12.2m long, with a beam of 3.95m and she draws 1.95m.

Your skipper will appreciate the easy to read wind and depth instruments and GPS and the electric windlass makes anchoring a breeze.

The 2 steering wheels give you a great Pittwater sailing experience and the curved teak foot-wells mean you can balance easily and stay in control when the Bear heels.

And with no centre wheel, the cockpit is open and spacious to walk through when you are at anchor. The long swim ladder makes getting back on board after a dip a breeze.

And of course there's the added luxury of a hot and cold deck shower.

Bear's cockpit is a large, bright and spacious area.

To protect you from the strong Australian sun there's a spray dodger, link cloth and bimini.

This means you can have the whole area fully shaded while you are under sail or anchor. Or you can remove link cloth and catch a few rays.

When you stop sailing you can open out the large table. It's perfect for lunches at anchor or pre-dinner drinks and snacks. The gas fired barbeque is 48cm x 28cm - plenty big enough to cook for the whole family.

Our Beneteau Oceanis 40 comes with a rigid Walker Bay tender with oars and outboard motor - perfect for exploring Pittwater's beautiful bays and beaches.

The modern mid-tone wood finish of Bear's interior is easy on the eye and luxurious. You'll notice the galley runs down the port side of the yacht. This gives an open plan layout - ideal for large groups or families. Your guests can enjoy a comfortable drink around the table and chat to you while you prepare dinner and no-one will feel left out. The table is big enough for to 8 to sit comfortably and enjoy a sociable meal together.

Floating Bear's galley is fully equipped with everything you need on your yacht charter. There's a gas stove with 2 burners, an oven and a stainless steel sink with 2 basins and hot and cold mixer tap. The large fridge contains 2 baskets to help you find items easily and we've stocked the cupboards with all kitchen utensils, glasses, plates, cups, pots and pans you could ever wish for. We even provide tea towels and washing up cloths. You'll find there's plenty of storage cupboards for all your provisions.

For a bit of added luxury there's a DVD player and working aerial with the TV. Bring your i-pod and i-trip you can enjoy music either on deck or in the saloon. And for the skipper there's even a comfortable seat at the chart table where you can plan your day's sail at your leisure.

The forward double cabin measures 2.00m x 1.75m (max) x 0.44m (min) and has an en-suite head with shower. There are 2 opening hatches with blinds and mosquito nets. The berth is luxurious and fitted with ample storage including hanging space for your clothes. The forward head and shower is en-suite. We provide enough sheets, doonas (quilts) and towels for your entire party.

The two aft cabins are identical in size - 2.00m x 1.53m (max) x 1.33m (min) with ample storage space including hanging for your clothes. Both berths have opening hatches with blinds and mosquito nets.

In the Beneteau Oceanis 40 starboard cabin there is the option for access direct to aft head.

This means if you are a smaller group this aft head can become en-suite.

This large rear head has a separate shower - real luxury on a boat.

You can turn the saloon seats into a 4th double bed giving Bear a maximum overnight capacity of 8. By day the maximum number of passengers is 12.

And to make your trip even better value, fuel and LPG gas are included in the cost of your charter.
