Smart Anchoring Part 1

When you cruise around Pittwater do you tend to pick up a mooring when you stop for lunch or overnight? Most of us do...

After all it's easy and convenient there's usually plenty of moorings to go round.

But what if there are no moorings free in your favourite sunset spot? Are you confident you can anchor for the night instead?

Our Seawind Factory Visit

August 2010 sees the launch of our first Seawind Catamaran Syndicate.

It gave us a great opportunity to head down to the Seawind factory and check on the progress of our new boat.

We also took time to chat to owner Richard Ward about his passion for sailing and great design.

10 minutes with David Biddle

We asked Smart Boating owner David what made him take up sailing.

'Well it wasn't exactly a conscious decision! My Dad competed at international level in dinghy racing. So I was around boats before I could even walk!

I spent many days in my pram watching the boats and as I grew up we spent all our family holidays at sailing meetings.'

Morning Bay

As everyone who sails on Pittwater knows - we are incredibly lucky to have such a amazing cruising area as Pittwater so close to a large city.

There are so many fantastic bays to explore it's often hard to know where to start.

We took a trip to Morning Bay this month and discovered a ruined cottage and a family friendly beach

You want to eat well. But on your holiday you want to spend maximum time relaxing and minimum time in front of the stove.

Here at Smart Boating we've all enjoyed many sailing holidays over the years, so over the next few issues of SmartNews we'll be sharing our favorite meal ideas with you.
