Sydney Yacht Charters

Sydney yacht charters - excitement, stunning waterways and iconic architecture.

For a memorable yacht charter in Australia, Sydney harbour (Port Jackson) has heaps to offer.

Sydney Harbour

There are lots of good things about sailing on Sydney Harbour.

You can charter a yacht and join the rich and famous cruising past the iconic Sydney Opera House and under the massive Harbour Bridge.

You can marvel at the impressive real-estate lining the harbour.

You can enjoy the natural beauty of the North Shore reserves.

You can have an exhilarating sail up towards the heads.

And to make your day... you might even get lucky and see humpback whales breaching just inside the harbour entrance.

Are you looking for a peaceful yacht charter in Sydney?

Pittwater, Sydney Harbour's quieter cousin, is just 45 minutes North of Sydney's CBD.

Pittwater is a world class waterway.

Charter a yacht here and you will enjoy uncrowded and unspoiled waterways surrounded by miles and miles of National Park.

Head here to learn more about the tranquility of Pittwater sailing.

You can always find a sheltered bay to stop and enjoy a swim or leisurely lunch.

And if you anchor overnight in Rose Bay or Athol Bay you'll get stunning views of the Opera house and Harbour Bridge.

But while Sydney Yacht Charters promise you excitement...

... it's worth bearing in mind that Port Jackson is a very busy waterway.

Venture onto the harbour on a summer Saturday afternoon and you will share the water with...

Sydney Harbour Old Skiff Race
  • racing and cruising yachts and dinghies
  • kayaks
  • jet boats
  • fishing boats
  • the Manly Ferry
  • and the occasional ocean liner!

It's a great spectacle...

...but it's not relaxing for the inexperienced skipper.

Here's our yacht charter Australia Guide to Sydney Yacht Charters.

Sydney Harbour

The most famous days on the harbour are Australia Day, Boxing Day and New Years Eve.

Each is a fantastic day on the harbour... but we suggest you don't consider a bareboat yacht charter on these days unless you are very experienced.

In December and January the harbour is filled with charter boats enjoying the Christmas Party and Holiday Season.

November, February and March are great times to charter a yacht on Sydney Harbour.

It's less hectic, but still generally warm enough to stop for a swim. If you can get out mid-week you'll get more space enjoy a peaceful sail.

Sydney's weather is more often than not fantastic - but when it rains it really rains!

If you're travelling to Australia from overseas we suggest you come prepared for pretty much any weather. In summer (December, January, February) it's generally around 30°C most days, but it can be as low is 20°C and occasionally we get 40°C days.

Sydney Harbour

Winter often sees Sydney at it's most beautiful. We often get fabulous clear blue days, where Sydney harbour literally shimmers in the winter sun.

We've had some wonderful, quiet cruises out on the harbour in July and August. The daytime temperature can be as low as 10°C... so you'll need to wrap up.
