Exclusive Whale Watching with SmartBoating
SmartBoating owner David Biddle took these amazing photos of Humpback Whales just outside the heads of Pittwater. The whales just appeared and swam alongside his yacht. Of course a great advantage of a whale watching trip on a sailing boat is the whales often come close to you as there is no noisy engine to annoy them. SmartBoating Whale-Watching Adventures start from Bayview Anchorage Marina. From there you can enjoy a sail up Pittwater before heading out onto the open ocean where we see whales virtually every day. Crewed Offshore CharterWe have two sailing catamarans available for skippered offshore charter. The sailing catamaran is exclusively yours for 5 hours. You can use all the on board facilities. 
Morning or afternoon tea is included in the cost of your trip. Bring lunch and drinks or we can arrange our catering partner to provide lunch for you at an additional cost. You can choose from 2 stable, luxury catamarans available depending on your group size. For groups of up to 5 people our Lightwave 38 catamaran is ideal. The Lightwave SmartBoating whale-watching tour costs $1500. Our Seawind 1250 Catamaran can cater for groups up to 9. The Seawind SmartBoating whale-watching tour costs $2500. Facts about Whales in SydneyWe are incredibly lucky in Sydney to have large numbers of Humpback whales migrate up and down our coastline each year. In the Autumn they swim North, heading for the warm waters off the Queensland coast. In the Spring they turn South again towards the rich feeding grounds offered by Summer Antarctica. Spring is a particularly good time for whale watching off the coast of Sydney as we often see mothers and calves swimming together. Humpbacks are famous for slapping their fins on the water.
